How To Outlive Lies + The Art of The Double/Triple/So Forth “Date”
Random thought/memory:
I almost forgot the lunar year was a thing… I keep forgetting how much the collective consciousness of observers will literally edit “time” in real-time. Lol… just to “pass the time”… lol
Crazy huh…
Reminds me not to take too many things so seriously…
I also had another random thought/memory…
I outlive lies like there’s no tomorrow. <>
Reminds me of the last double date I went on… and it actually went pretty well… if you ignore the fact that the other couple found out that a rumor that was going around about me was actually false.
Lol.
Before they met me, one of them had the impression that I was some sort of megalomaniacal tyrant with a short fuse that lacks emotional intelligence. Lol. If that were true, I’d have found every excuse to avoid the date entirely. Lol. Once she found out I was easy to talk to, the vibe shifted. Lol her dude got pissed off.
Once our acquaintances realized this, they actually had an argument amongst themselves, and me and my date left to go kick it somewhere else. Mind you, my date at that time was just as toxic, so her sudden urgency to leave already let me know that there was some things she said herself that were backfiring, leaving me unscathed.
Lol… I laughed it off and went somewhere else… Had a few random conversations with strangers along the way. I don’t remember much else.
At the end of the evening, I made it home safely and woke up at dawn to soft rain hitting against the window and the lowered volume of music on a playlist I must’ve passed out to hours ago.
I tried to roll out of bed then realized my date was next to me… what I thought was a pillow I was rolling over was actually the side of her leg… once I knew I wasn’t on a pillow, I just pushed myself up entirely and jumped off the bed like I had Spider-Man agility. No harm, no foul. Lol
She had that subtle snore where it’s not annoying but it’s loud enough to where you can’t go back to sleep if you’re next to it…
She was sound asleep, but intuitively aware enough to reach out as if she knew I was getting ready to leave.
At first I thought she was a random woman and started checking my surroundings… I almost panicked… lol
I wasn’t fully awake yet, I was just looking for water, honestly. Lol
Once I figured it out, I just fixed breakfast (made sure she had enough of everything to not even complain… lol) and got up out of there… lol
Safe and sound…
I might even write a song about it…
I just realized that I care more about people than they ever realized.
When they realize how much I care, it’s going to be compared to how people talk about the light from stars that are lightyears away. There’s always the few physicists in the room to remind them that many of the stars they’re seeing is a light that exploded lightyears ago.
