“Slide” For Whitney and Dolly?

Yea.. I heard the news.

Made me wonder if folks should retire songs like the sports industries retire jersey numbers…

Something on the lines of certain songs not being allowed to be covered by any other artist(s).

For the moment, I’d skip any cover of “I Will Always Love You” that isn’t being performed by Whitney or Dolly. iykyk

I aint trying to hear anybody’s cover of “Jolene” (Dolly’s) either. Same goes for “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” (Whitney’s).

Most covers are great, no shade on them. Respectfully.

There are many artists that are alive and well that have songs I’d “retire”. Many of them aren’t even famous. I can say the same for some scores I’ve heard in movies, games, etc..

I’m pretty sure that there’s eventually going to be a “Hall of Vibes” that transcends the halls of “fame” that most folks are familiar with.

Just saying.
